Since 1951, Communication Enterprises has played a vital role in keeping Central Valley businesses, public safety agencies, and critical operations connected. Founded by Thomas R. Poor, the company began as a small radio service operation and has grown into a trusted provider of professional two-way radio systems, engineering, and long-term service support - serving customers throughout the Central Valley and surrounding regions for more than seven decades.

A Legacy Built on Service & Technical Excellence

From 1953 to 1958, Communication Enterprises operated as a Motorola Service Station, providing expert repair and maintenance for Motorola radio equipment at a time when dependable wireless communication was becoming essential for businesses and municipalities.

In 1958, when Mr. Poor made the decision to repair and support all makes and models of radios, General Electric invited Communication Enterprises to become a Manufacturer’s Representative. This move marked a major milestone in the company’s growth and industry recognition.

From 1958 through 1988, Communication Enterprises ranked among General Electric’s top ten Manufacturer’s Representatives and Service Stations nationwide, earning numerous awards - including five Million-Dollar Year Awards -for outstanding sales performance, service quality, and customer satisfaction.

Expanding Solutions for a Changing Industry

As wireless technology continued to evolve, Communication Enterprises remained ahead of the curve. In 1998, the company signed an agreement to sell Motorola Radius products, and in 1996 became a Motorola Full-Line Dealer and Authorized Service Center, further strengthening its ability to deliver end-to-end communication solutions backed by factory authorization and support.

Over the years, Communication Enterprises has provided system design, installation, and ongoing maintenance for a wide range of public and private organizations, including:
